How does WageIndicator collect data related to salary?

WageIndicator collects data via voluntary web-based survey questionnaires that are available on all national WageIndicator websites. This multiple-choice survey is available in 47 languages and in 140 countries. It closely resembles the standard labour force surveys used by various statistical agencies. The information gathered through these surveys is handled with extreme caution. The responders' privacy is strictly protected. WageIndicator also collects wage data through in-person surveys in around 30 countries where strong Internet connectivity is not widely available. This data is used for our Salary Checker.

Is the information used for the Salary Checker reliable?

The information used for the Salary Checker is obtained through voluntarily submitted data, hence, 100% accuracy cannot be guaranteed. WageIndicator actively urges survey respondents to submit as much accurate and detailed information about themselves and their jobs as possible. WageIndicator is committed to respecting the confidentiality of all survey participants. The Salary Checker is updated twice a year. Prior to calculation, the dataset is cleaned and compared to other relevant datasets using universally accepted statistical standards. This helps in the elimination of very unreliable cases from the datasets.

Why is my profession not mentioned in the Salary Checker?
