Government employees from all departments have assembled outside the Parliament House in order to draw attention of the Government to their economic problems and seek relief against this ongoing price hike.

Government employees from all Secretariats as well as education, health, agriculture, PTCL, Pakistan Railways, Pakistan Post departments have assembled outside the Parliament House in order to draw attention of the Government to their economic problems and seek relief against this ongoing price hike.

The protestors, which came from all Provinces, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan, demanded that government should raise their salaries as per the rate of inflation (in accordance with recommendation of Pay & Pension Commission), include all ad-hoc allowances in their basic salaries (for the last many years, government has not been changing the basic salary, rather giving only ad-hoc allowances), introduce a uniform pay and promotion policy for all government departments and stop the privatization of remaining public enterprises.

After a detailed meeting with Secretary Finance, Dr. Waqar Masood, strike/protest has been called off by All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) and Punjab Teachers Union (PTU). The Secretary assured these workers that government would give full priority to remove financial difficulties faced by government employees in the upcoming Budget.
