Government plans to set up Ministry of Human Resource Development - July 29, 2011

Government is setting up three new federal ministries comprising of the departments still in the federal legislative list and administered by Inter-Provincial Coordination Division. The plan is to establish three new ministries of human resources development, professional and technical training and national (inter-faith) harmony. However, this move is somewhat politicized as Government is planning to give these new ministries to PML-Q, its main coalition partner.

Ministry of Human Resource Development will include matters relevant to legislation about workers, National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC), ILO, Social Security (ISSA), Workers Welfare Fund (WWF), Employees Old Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), foreign employment and immigration (BE&OE and OEC).
