The Collective Bargaining Agent Union of Associated Industries Limited Amangarh Nowshera had upon the management a demand notice for Bonus bearing No. 70 dated 15-07-2002, on the management. The issue was discussed between the parties bilaterally. Bilateral negotiations between the parties failed. Consequently the union referred the dispute to the conciliator in the Directorate of Industries, Commerce & Labour N.W.F.P. by serving upon the management a strike notice as per law. Tripartite conciliation meeting between the parties were convened on different occasions and in a meeting held on 01-01-2003, an agreement was promoted between the parties on the following terms.

One month salary (Basic + Cola) as statutory Bonus under section 10-C of West Pakistan Industrial & Commercial Employment (Standing Orders) Ordinance 1968.

Keeping in view the good relation of the employees and the management, and in order to accommodate the financial Burden of the employees. The Management has also decided to pay 4 months and 27 days (Basic + Cola) as Ex-gratia Bonus to all unionized staff.

It was mutually agreed to pay one statutory Bonus and ex-gratia bonus both equivalent to 5 (five) months and 27 (Twenty seven) days (Basic salary + COLA) to all permanent employees of the company who were on the pay roll of the company on 30th June 2002. Except Management staff (Officers). This statutory Bonus + ex-gratia bonus payment is for the year ending 30th June 2002.

All eligible employees with less than one-year service as on 30-06-2002 shall receive statutory bonus + ex-gratia bonus payment on pro-rata basis and calculations in all such cases shall be made strictly, according to procedure. Leave without pay for upto 40 (forty) days would be condoned for this purpose and cost of living allowance would be added to basic salary drawn by eligible employees on 30th June, 2002, for the purpose of calculation of the amount payable to each employee.

Employees who wish to pay up advance outstanding against their names are Welcome to exercise their option to do so.

The Management has, as a very special case, decided for this occasion only, that the above Bonus + ex-gratia payment will also be made to all those employees who died or retired from the service of the company.
